
Hair Extension Care
At Hunny Hair Extensions, we believe in lasting beauty. With the right care, your extensions will stay soft, silky, and gorgeous for as long as possible. Please follow these professional care guidelines to protect your investment.

BRUSHING
- Always brush your extensions gently, starting from the ends and working your way up.
- Use a soft bristle brush or a special extension brush to avoid pulling or damaging the hair.
- Hold the top of the extensions firmly while brushing to minimize tension on the attachment points.

WASHING
- Use a sulfate-free, alcohol-free, and paraben-free shampoo and conditioner.
- Always detangle your extensions before washing.
- Shampoo roots x 2, bringing shampoo through the ends only when you feel there is buildup. Proceed with conditioner or hair mask.

DRYING
- Gently squeeze out excess water—do not aggresivley rub the hair with a towel.
- Allow extensions to air dry whenever possible.
- If using a blow dryer, use a low heat setting and apply a heat protectant beforehand.
- When blowdrying - rough dry 70% before taking sections (this will save so much time!)

STYLING
- Always use a before styling with hot tools.
Keep hot tools under 180°C (350°F) to avoid damaging the hair.
Limit the use of heavy styling products like hairsprays, mousses, and gels to maintain softness and longevity.

SLEEPING
- Never sleep with wet extensions.
- Before bed, gently brush the hair and loosely braid it to prevent tangling.
- Use a silk or satin pillowcase to reduce friction while you sleep.

SWIMMING
- Avoid swimming with your extensions if possible.
- If swimming is unavoidable, braid your hair tightly and wear a swim cap.
- Immediately wash and condition the hair after exposure to chlorine or saltwater.
- Prioritise salt water over chlorine (chlorine will be more damaging)
GENERAL TIPS
- Avoid exposing extensions to harsh chemicals, sunscreen sprays, and tanning oils.
- Regularly hydrate the extensions with lightweight, salon-quality oils or leave-in conditioners (sparingly applied to mid-lengths and ends only).
Full Refit Every 6–8 Weeks:
To maintain the integrity of your natural hair and the quality of your extensions, we recommend a full refit service every 6 to 8 weeks. This ensures your extensions stay in the healthiest position and your bonds or wefts remain secure.
Mini Move-Up Every 3–4 Weeks:
In between full refits, a mini move-up is suggested every 3 to 4 weeks. This quick maintenance service helps keep your extensions feeling comfortable and looking seamless as your natural hair grows.
